The European Sustainable Investment Forum (Eurosif) has responded to the European Commission’s consultation on how it should proceed with guidance to help companies implement the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
Eurosif offers four recommendations
- Ensure guidance is consistent with international frameworks and EU legislation
- Provide specific information for investors
- Reinforce the risk-based requirements, helping companies to focus on their most significant risks and impacts
- Encourage shareholder engagement as a key tool for due diligence assessments
