The International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) and the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) have issued their joint annual report, setting out their respective activities in 2025.
IAASB highlights:

- Supporting implementation of ISSA 5000
IESBA highlights
- Advancing work on firm culture and governance
- Responding to influence of private equity in accounting firms
- Supporting implementation of sustainability standards
- Seeing tax planning standards take effect
IESBA chair Gabriela Figueiredo Dias stated: “Leadership is not measured only by issuing new standards, but also by supporting their implementation, anticipating emerging challenges, and engaging openly with stakeholders. Those efforts continue to strengthen ethics, independence, and confidence in the global reporting ecosystem.”
