The International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) has launched a consultation on its work programme for the next three years (2026-2028).
Under its current work programme, the standard setter will develop implementation support for its own operations climate standard from the start of 2026, and work towards issuing a climate-related disclosure standard on public policy programmes by the end of next year.
The consultation is open until 4 May 2026, after which the board will decide what additional individual projects to pursue.
IPSASB chair Ian Carruthers stated: “With resources to undertake new initiatives anticipated to become available during 2026 and onwards, the IPSASB decided that now is the time to consult with stakeholders to determine their future project needs.”
