The International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board(IPSASB) has issued draft guidance on how public sector bodies can integrate IPSAS-aligned accounting into government finance statistical systems.
IPSASB Chair Thomas Müller-Marqués Berger stated: “The guidance we are proposing will help governments leverage the independently audited accounting data that is already available in their systems for statistical compilation, enhancing the overall data quality and the efficiency of their statistical reporting process.”
The final guidance will amend IPSAS 22 - Disclosure of Financial Information About the General Government Sector.
The public consultation on the draft guidance is open until 22 June.
