ISSB consults on updates to three SASB standards

26 March 2026

The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) has issued draft amendments to three SASB sector-specific standards for public consultation.

It has proposed updates to SASB’s standards for the:

  • Agricultural products sector
  • Meat, poultry and dairy sector
  • Electric utilities and power generation sector

These are the remaining three of the 12 standards that the ISSB has prioritised in its project to improve the international applicability of the sector-specific standards.

The board approved the draft revisions to three standards at a meeting last month. The public consultation is open until 24 July.

A public consultation on the other nine standards was held last year. The ISSB discussed the feedback at a meeting this week.

ISSB vice-chair Sue Lloyd stated: "The SASB Standards are the only complete set of industry-based disclosure standards available to entities and are a vital resource for entities applying ISSB Standards. We welcome feedback as we enhance the SASB Standards to ensure they remain relevant to investors and fit for use for entities around the world."
