Jennifer Lopez takes over as CAPA chief executive

Jennifer Lopez has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA), effective today (15 September), taking over in the role from Brian Blood.

CAPA represents 29 national professional accountancy organisations across 21 jurisdictions and 2m professional accountants in the Asia-Pacific region.

Lopez has served as CEO of the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce since 2021 and was previously director of the Malaysian branch of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

IFAC CEO Lee White said in a statement today that Lopez will “bring fresh energy and ideas to CAPA’s important missions.”

“Her appointment comes at a time when our profession is navigating a profound transformation – driven by sustainability, powered by technology, and shaped by the urgent need to attract, develop, and retain top talent,” he added.
