Most (59%) EU companies are in favour of proportionate sustainability reporting requirements, and only 13% are explicitly opposed to mandatory disclosures, according to an August YouGov survey of 2,500 European business leaders commissioned by climate think tank E3G.
Half of the respondents said reporting sustainability data helps attract investment, while only 18% disagreed with that statement. Furthermore, 54% agree that large companies should be allowed to request relevant sustainability data from smaller suppliers if proportionate.
