A survey of 1,000 senior decision makers at UK-based SMEs by London-based bank Aldermore has found that many are unprepared for sustainability reporting.
Most respondents (58%) said they have never heard of Scope 1,2 and 3 emissions – which will be core elements of future sustainability reporting frameworks – and 82% said sustainability requirements are an active barrier to their business
In addition, only 13% have implemented formal measures and made commitments to transition to net zero emissions by 2050, with this figure staying unchanged from last year.
