London-based data provider Natural Capital Research (Natcap) has launched a new digital solution, allowing companies to identify where the agricultural commodities in their value chains are produced.
The tool provides estimates of commodity origin, helping companies to identify regions linked to nature-related risks and prioritise their supplier engagement.
“Agricultural supply chains are often opaque, and national-level data can mask significant regional variation in nature-related risks,” Natcap CEO Sebastian Leape, said. “Understanding where commodities are actually produced is a critical first step for companies seeking to manage nature-related risks in their supply chains.”
