The New Zealand External Reporting Board (XRB) has published a draft roadmap for issuing a new climate-related disclosure standard based on IFRS S2.
It notes that this direction would better align with international standards and Australia’s climate reporting requirements.
Under the proposed roadmap, the ISSB-aligned standard would take effect – replacing the current TCFD-aligned requirements – from 2033, with early adoption permitted.
The XRB is consulting on the draft roadmap until 30 September.
