The Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) has integrated the Comprehensive Environmental Data Archive (CEDA) into its Database, to help signatories quantify GHG emissions linked to their financial activities.
CEDA, developed by Watershed, is a publicly available database offering 60,000 emissions factors based on regional proxy emission intensities and ‘rest of world’ factors for underreported areas. PCAF notes that the integration of the database will particularly support financial institutions operating in sectors and regions with limited disclosed emissions data.
PCAF and CEDA plan to annually update the dataset and to provide guidance and resources on using the emissions factors.
