Anthony Barrett has been appointed as executive director of supervision at the UK Financial Reporting Council (FRC), and Penrose Foss has been appointed as FRC executive director of investigations and enforcement.
Barrett, currently FRC director of Audit Quality Review, will replace Sarah Rapson as executive director of supervision on 20 October.
Foss serves as a First-tier Tribunal Judge of the General Regulatory Chamber. She will start in the role on 15 December, replacing Elizabeth Barrett who is set to retire next month.
FRC CEO Richard Moriarty said in a statement: “Both appointments come at a pivotal time as we continue to work through the some key FRC initiatives including important Future of Audit Supervision Strategy, our project on supporting the SME audit market, our recently launched initiative aimed at building capability in the smaller PIE audit firms and our End-to-End Enforcement review."
