The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will host a public roundtable on 26 June to discuss executive compensation disclosure requirements.
In a statement, SEC chair Paul Atkins said the disclosure requirements “have become increasingly complex and length” but it is “less clear” whether this has provided investors with additional information that is material for their investment and voting decisions.
The SEC staff is developing the agenda for the roundtable and Atkins has requested that the discussions cover the challenges associated with compensation disclosures and how the SEC can address these challenges.
Members of the public can submit their views on executive compensation disclosure requirements to the SEC ahead of the roundtable.
