The Council of the EU (the Council) has endorsed Patrick de Cambourg to become chair of EFRAG sustainability reporting board (SRB), Corporate Disclosures has learnt.
The issue was a non-discussion item at this morning (7 September) Coreper meeting, which was adopted along with all other non-discussion items on the agenda.
This comes a month after the topic was removed from the previous Coreper meeting's agenda.
De Cambourg now has the backing of both the Council and the European Parliament, as well as being the EU Commission's preferred candidate, and should be announced as EFRAG's SRB chair shortly.
